Grassland Safari at Kadbanwadi – A New Experience in the Wild!

If you think safaris are only about dense forests and Tigers, think again! Maharashtra’s Kadbanwadi Grassland is offering a completely new kind of adventure — right in the open, golden plains where nature speaks softly through the rustling of grass and the songs of birds.

Located near Indapur in Pune district, Kadbanwadi has always been known for its vast, open grasslands and rich biodiversity. These dry landscapes may look plain at first, but they are home to some truly fascinating wildlife – from Indian foxes, Hyena, mongoose, and chinkaras to harriers, larks, Raptors, Grassland Birds and the Tiger of Grassland - The Wolf

And here’s the exciting part — since July 2025, Kadbanwadi has started its very own Gypsy Safari!

Now you can explore this hidden gem with a completely different feel. The open skies, wide horizons, and the gentle wind make it a refreshing experience. It’s perfect for those who love photography, birdwatching, or simply wish to enjoy the calm beauty of the wild countryside.

Early mornings and late evenings are magical — the light, the silence, and the natural beauty make it feel like a world far away from city life.

So next time you’re planning a weekend getaway, skip the crowded spots and head towards Kadbanwadi Grassland Safari. It’s peaceful, unique, and truly one of Maharashtra’s underrated natural treasures

Had been to this place on 8th Jan, 2025. The experience was good. As we had visited Pench and Tadoba earlier, this seemed to be average. We were lucky to see Hyenas, Fox and Wolves.

Important thing is to note that you need a bigger car like Tata Sumo / Jeep to travel there. Normal cars would not be able to go through the rough terrain. We hired a Sumo from Bhigwan. Enjoyed safari in the afternoon and had fun seeing the flamingos next day morning.
